Merdeka Generation Package Benefits

The Merdeka Generation Package is for Singaporeans born from 1 January 1950 to 31 December 1959, and who became a Singapore Citizen on or before 31 December 1996. The package is also given to seniors who do not receive the Pioneer Generation Package, but were born on or before 31 December 1949, and became a Singapore Citizen on or before 31 December 1996.

PAssion Silver Card Top-up

  • One-off $100 PAssion Silver Card top-up for use on active ageing programmes, public transport and more

From 1 July 2019, you will receive a one-off $100 top-up to your PAssion Silver Card to access more active ageing opportunities.

How to Receive the Top-Up?

You may redeem the top-up at selected Community Centres, MRT stations and Bus interchanges from 1 July 2019. You may also receive your top-up at selected Merdeka Generation roadshows and events.

Outpatient Care Subsidies

  • 3 healthcare touchpoints for outpatient medical and dental subsidies – CHAS GP, Polyclinics, and public SOCs.

From November 2019, you will receive more subsidies at Polyclinics, Public Specialist Outpatient Clinics (Public SOCs) and Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS) clinics.

* In order to receive subsidies for Public SOC visits, you will first need to be assessed and referred by a CHAS clinic or polyclinic. The doctor will refer you to a Public SOC as a subsidised patient if needed.

CareShield Life Participation Incentives

  • $4,000 participation incentives to join CareShield Life

CareShield Life is a national long-term care insurance scheme targeted at severe disability and is an enhancement of the ElderShield scheme. CareShield Life will be launched in 2021 for those born in 1979 or earlier.

  • Additional 5% subsidy for your annual premiums, increasing to 10% after you turn 75 years old

MediShield Life provides Singaporeans with lifetime protection from large hospital bills.
